Australian Property & Building Inspections is currently seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our team, on a casual basis.
Successful applicants will use their residential and commercial industry experience and qualifications to provide advice on compliance with the Building Codes of Australia, Australian Standards and Building Regulations.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Onsite inspections of properties and new home builds;
- Pest and Termite Inspections (will provide training);
- Developing and establishing causes of building damage;
- Noting design faults, defective building work or maintenance related issues;
- Supplying detailed assessment reports;
- Inspecting all building repair which coincides to the Australian Building Codes/Standards.
Skills and Experience
- Hold a current building trade qualification, or industry equivalent;
- Be able to prove 10 years residential and commercial building and construction experience;
- A working knowledge of the Building Act 1993;
- Pest inspection experience preferred but will train;
- Self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail;
- Drivers License and car;
- Willing to travel to metro and regional New South Wales;
- Police check;
- Presentable, punctual and professional.
Employment Conditions
- $150.00 per inspection plus travel expenses;
- A maximum of 4 building inspections can be allocated to a building inspector on any given day;
- APBI hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance;
- A mobile telephone and 3g enabled touch screen tablet are provided to the building inspector but remain the property of APBI;
- Shirt, lanyard, business cards, brochures provided by APBI;
- Training provided at no cost to the building inspector;
- Private Vehicle Travel Reimbursement Rate of $0.30 cents per kilometre, for travel of over 30 kilometres on any given day.
- Parking and tollways paid for.
