Together with our Alliance partner SA Water, Allwater is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater networks and associated assets throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area.

Allwater are currently seeking a suitably experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Wastewater & Reuse team based at our Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is a permanent full time position.
 

Joining an experienced and dedicated team who are part of our Wastewater and Reuse Operations Group, you will play an important role in the effective maintenance of recently upgraded Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant. Reporting to the M&E Maintenance Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the efficient maintenance of the plant is delivered in a compliant, safe and environmentally sound manner.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Undertaking programmed and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of water industry assets.
• Maintaining critical assets including chemical dosing systems, compressors, pump stations.
• Liaise with operational staff as required to ensure plant operational performance is maintained and critical process issue are diagnosed and resolved.
 
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:
• Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with a number of stakeholders.
• Previous experience in a field based maintenance role along with knowledge of water & wastewater plant systems will be highly regarded.
• A methodical approach and high attention to detail.
• Good general understanding of IT systems and computer literacy.

Key requirements:
• Qualifications in a technical/trade discipline.
• Awareness of current WHS policies and procedures
• Be available to work an on-call roster for nominated areas.
• You may be required to work flexible hours to meet demands where necessary.
• Work and travel to multiple sites and locations (including remote wastewater pumping station sites) where necessary.
• Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license is required.
• Verification of qualifications/licenses will be undertaken along with pre-employment medicals and background police checks for all shortlisted candidates.
