CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) are international market leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems.

In Canberra we are delivering and maintaining the new light rail rolling stock and as such we are searching for highly capable, energetic and motivated Technicians to join our growing team. 

Maintaining Canberra's new light rail trains takes a range of skills, from mechanical to electrical. If the idea of working on these high-tech machines sparks an interest and you have a background in maintaining rolling stock or experience in the  maintenance of heavy machinery with strong electrical and computer skills, then keep reading because you could be the person we're looking for.

We are looking for people to start from September 2018 to carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on the new light rail rolling stock.  You will be testing, diagnosing and conducting repairs of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of the light rail vehicles, including the HVAC system.


You will be required to:

  • Carry out maintenance and corrective maintenance on all systems of the Rolling Stock
  • Fault finding using Electrical & Mechanical schematics
  • Ensure tasks carried out meet the quality requirements of the relevant Railway standards.
  • Available to work weekends and nights as needed.

If you have the following qualifications and experience, please submit your CV today!:

  • Certificate or equivalent years experience in Mechanical/Electrical trades or engineering
  • Track record in rail maintenance or have experience in maintaining heavy machinery or HVAC systems
  • Outstanding Communications Skills
  • Holding a refrigerant handling licence will be an advantage

The right candidate will be product focused, client orientated and demonstrate a high level of self motivation. Looking to start these roles in September 2018.
