The Opportunity
To manage the staff, resources and operations of Council's Workshop fleet of light and heavy vehicles, small plant and large earth-moving plant.
About You
Desired applicants will possess the following skills and qualifications.
- Trade Certificate or Tradesperson's Rights Certificate as an Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical).
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- National White or Queensland Blue Workplace Health and Safety Construction Industry Certification card.
- Experience in the management of a Workshop, including scheduling maintenance and repairs of vehicles and plant by monitoring due dates and determining priorities.
- Experience in hands-on diagnostics and resolution of vehicle/plant issues.
- Experience in performing costings, developing and implementing budgets, and performing inventory and stock control.
- Knowledge of legislation applicable to a vehicle/plant Workshop, including environmental and workplace health and safety legislation
- Sound level of computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of corporate and other programs (e.g. Authority; TRIM)
Desirable;
- Vocational qualifications in business management or a related field.
- A current class MR driver’s licence.
- Plant operator competency certificates.
- Air conditioning qualifications.
- Welding qualifications.
