The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Assist or lead in design, development, operation and optimization of biologic separation technology and processes in a cGMP environment;
· Coordinate and deliver engineering projects by leading development of equipment specifications, testing and optimisation with external contractors and consultants;
· Carry out R&D projects relating to process development, optimisation and scale up; and achieve outcomes within defined constraints (cost, time and quality);
· Develop SOPs for process and analytic methods; facilitate technology transfer; provide training and support to Production team with biological separation processes and analytical assays; and provide project management leadership;
· Report progress and outcomes both internally and with collaborating organisations
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess:
· Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or chemical engineering, biological sciences or related fields with at least 3 years of relevant work experience; postgraduate qualifications are preferable;
· Experience in research and large scale bioprocessing techniques, biological separations and biological assay development, especially in regulated field;
· Preferably experience in cGMP working environment, start-ups, commissioning and qualification of process equipment in an operating plant;
· An understanding and experience of quality systems and the need to develop and follow SOPs, particularly in a cGMP environment;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team;
· Experience in project management and delivery.
