Key requirements of role:
A Project Officer is required to join the Information & Program Management team in Sustainability Programs Branch. The Branch delivers sustainability programs for the business, government and household sectors.
The Project Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Information & Program Management team (including information analysts and other project officers) to provide program management support to the branch’s program delivery teams.
Key accountabilities:
- Delivery of specific projects to agreed standards, on time and on budget.
- Assist in the development, monitoring and evaluation of high quality sustainability programs to support positive environmental, economic and social outcomes.
- Provide guidance, advice and/or training to internal stakeholders to develop program management knowledge and to build capacity for using systems, procedures and sound operational practices.
- Review and monitor the ongoing effectiveness, relevance and responsiveness to delivery teams’ needs and priorities of core systems, processes and procedures.
- Prepare and provide input into the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence on a range of operational issues in accordance with government protocols.
- Represent and advocate for sustainability program interests - in a range of forums.

- Be independent thinkers who can critically engage with a wide range of programs and delivery models
- Be proactive problem solvers who seek opportunities to provide support and coordinate activities across the branch
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy engaging with program teams
- Have experience providing support in a program management office or working in program delivery roles.
- Facilitation experience (highly desirable)
- A background in energy or resource efficiency policies / programs (highly desirable)
