Working in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries & Resources, Red Appointments NT has an urgent requirement for Planning Officers to commence immediately for a minimum of 6 months with the view to extend.

Citrus Canker is the focus of a nationally supported control and eradication program managed through the Northern Territory Government. We are seeking a number of Planning Officers who will be able to contribute to the planning and coordination of activities relating to the Emergency Response Plan. Experience in planning and resource allocation will be highly considered.

A Background in Farming, Agriculture, Biosecurity, Quarantine, & Scientific including environmental with a background in Laboratory, or analysis will be highly considered.


The successful candidate will have the following:

• Proven ability to prepare, interpret and analyse technical data and reports, to provide comprehensive recommendations and clear advice.
• Demonstrated experience in assessment of risk and the development of risk mitigation strategies and policies to inform strategic decision making.
• Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills. This will include the generation of technical and planning reports that can be easily understood by a wide range of audiences.
• Demonstrated relevant experience working in dynamic and rapidly changing work environment, with the ability to respond to, anticipate and to manage change.
• Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams (including scientific, technical, analytical and administrative streams) to deliver integrated planning advice and outcomes.
• Experience in cost and resource allocation and forecasting.
• Demonstrated experience in word processing packages and spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).
