Robson Environmental, established in 1990, is Canberra's leading asbestos and hazmat consultancy within a mutli disciplinary team covering environmental assessment & remediation, occupational hygiene, workplace safety, NATA accredited laboratories and a training facility. We have NATA accreditation for our hazmat surveying.
Robson Environmental is experiencing unprecedented growth and is looking for professionals for a graduate role within both our Occupational Hygiene and Contaminated Land Section.
We are interested in hearing from recent degree-qualified individuals with an ongoing interest in either discipline with high level critical thinking and analytical skills who are curious and excited about science! These positions would suit a recent graduate looking for a career in an Applied Science field and the opportunity for advancement.
As a member of our Occupational Hygiene team your role would include:
- Equipment maintenance & calibration
- Site sampling and documentation
- Preparing field samples for in-house and external laboratory analysis
- Data downloading and entry
- Sample collection and analysis
- Client liaison
- Basic report writing
As a member of our Contaminated Land team your role would include:
- Waste Classification
- Soil Beneficial Reuse
- Soil Assessments (including asbestos in soil)
- Surface and Ground Water Assessments
- Soil/Groundwater Vapour Assessments
- Tank Excavation Assessments
- Air Monitoring (for Asbestos Fibres)
- Remedial Action Plans
- Site Validation/Suitability
- Environmental Management & Unexpected Finds Protocols
These are entry level positions where, after the initial training period, you will be expected to work with minimal supervision to a very high level of accuracy and professionalism. As this industry is inherently hazardous, employees are expected to conform to strict WHS requirements at all times. You will also be expected to be flexible to adapt to changing tasks during the working day due to the highly reactive nature of the industry.
Overtime/time in lieu is paid at penalty rates.
Essential
- Science degree in associated discipline
- Full unrestricted drivers license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent computer skills
- A great attitude, highly motivated and willing to learn
- Able to perform manual duties including lifting, climbing and working in areas such as ceiling voids, sub-floors, risers and at heights
- The ability to travel interstate and work flexible hours including overtime when required
- Able to obtain security clearances, and a satisfactory health check
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
Desirable
- Previous laboratory or field work experience
