About the Role

We are looking for talented data science gurus – people who demonstrate great potential - who’s skills draw actionable insights from data that drive commercial outcomes for our valued client base. 1. Build and deliver ground-breaking AI products and services.  You push the boundaries of exceptional application of AI to solve real business problems. You continually innovate and raise the bar of the high performing team through rapidly experimenting, prototyping and iterating and deploying AI models. Whatever the projects you work on, what you do is always of the highest quality and calibre.
2. Focus on using machine learning and optimisation to deliver commercial value.  As an exceptional data scientist, you love to devise, build and deploy accurate machine learning, deep learning, and mathematical optimisation models. Your ultimate objective is to apply complex theoretical concepts and algorithms into business-ready AI products and services that drive significant commercial value for businesses.
3. Drive projects to completion.  You have start-to-finish ownership of projects, and you thrive on seeing things all the way through. You are an excellent multi-tasker who is always "on it." You proactively find solutions to drive projects forward despite obstacles. You understand the importance of planning to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor or masters degree in computer science, data science, math, operations research, statistics or other discipline with a strong quantitative focus.  PhD ideal, but not required
• 2+ years of commercial experience in machine learning and/or deep learning model development using standard tools and frameworks such as MLLib, Tensorflow and H2O
• 2+ years of commercial experience with very large datasets and big data infrastructure e.g. Apache Spark, Hadoop or other distributed frameworks
• Solid knowledge of machine learning theory and algorithms as well as experimental design skills for practical applications
• Extensive experience performing exploratory analysis guided by scientific principles
• Demonstrated ability to build and deploy precise, high performing and reliable models
• Flexible in choice of programming language, but competent in one or more of the following languages, with a desire to learn more: R, Python, Scala, and Java
• Good understanding of AWS AI/ML stack (S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, and SageMaker)
• Good understanding and exposure to NoSQL databases such as Neo4j
• Competent with at least one data visualisation tool such as Tableau, D3, Flask, R Shiny and others
• Strong commercial acumen, and experience in proactively utilising data science to drive business decision making
• Passion for AI and analytics
