About the Role
  
We currently have a Full Time and 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our state of the art laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor the primary focus of your role is to professionally process samples in a timely and safe manner.
  
In this fast paced role, your key responsibilities will include:
  

• General wet chemistry
• Analysis of routine samples as designated
• Unpacking, sorting and registering samples
• Correlation of data
• Calibration and maintenance of equipment
• Assist in preparing laboratory standards and general housekeeping

  
About You
  
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in science (chemistry) or related discipline
• Previous laboratory experience desirable
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Sound technical & problem solving abilities
• Exposure to instrumentation such as Auto Titrators, Viscometers, Particle Counters, FTIR and ICP would be advantageous
• Ability to undertake manual handling as required
