The Opportunity – Gas Laboratory Technician
Based at the Innovation Campus, the Gas Laboratory technician provides accurate and timely gas data that fully supports the needs of mine gas drainage, ventilation and surface exploration activities for Illawarra Coal and external clients.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Calibration and maintenance of test equipment
- Determination of the gas content of coal cores
- Determination of gas composition
- Database entry and reporting of results

- Trade Certificate in relevant area
- Good computer skills
- Knowledge of Outburst Management Plan, gas drainage, mine ventilation and surface exploration operations
- Good analytical skills
