The Organisation:
At the centrepiece of a reshaped transport cluster, this government department is responsible for setting the strategic direction and guiding an extended network of public and private service delivery agencies to deliver improved transport outcomes.

The Role:
In this role you will be managing stakeholders' competing interests within project constraints of time and cost. Managing the Land Acquisition Act 1991 (LAA) compulsory acquisition process, ensuring that the Project Property Services team complies with all statutory requirements pursuant to the LAA, whilst delivering project land requirements on time and within budget.

Accountabilities:

• Understanding the needs and expectations of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and communicating effectively with them to manage expectations and deliver realistic outcomes. 
• Manage the acquisition or control of all required land or interests in lands to suit the development and delivery program including investigation, due diligence processes, dispute resolution, negotiations and formulation of required documentation.
• Manage any developer / other stakeholder or client scope change processes including acting on design or construction changes that impact on property. Provide advice and implement strategies to deal with ownership, operation and maintenance agreements as required.
• Provide advice to Project and Technical Managers on property impacts through the feasibility, concept and design development phases. Draft briefing notes / memos for the Principal Manager.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in contract management relevant to property and land acquisition.
• Experience with and understanding of relevant legislation, policy, processes and practices involved in property planning, land acquisition and management for major infrastructure projects and programs.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Economics, Property, Real Estate, Valuation or equivalent industry experience.
