Growth in the Perth office and demand for our services has created an exciting opportunity for an Associate with 3-5 years PQE to work across the Construction and Litigation teams. This is a unique opportunity to work with a new partner to grow the Perth Construction practice, plus work with our established Litigation team across a range of mining, oil and gas and resources related matters. This role presents exciting potential for career advancement and mentoring in a collegiate and dynamic team environment. The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Draft advices, pleadings and prepare matters for hearing
- Attend witness conferences and prepare affidavits and witness statements
- Prepare briefs and instruct counsel
- Liaise with clients and assist in negotiations
- Prepare for and attend court
- Provide mentoring and assistance to Lawyers, Graduates and Summer Clerks
- Assist with business development & marketing initiatives
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years PQE ideally gained within a premium, top tier or international litigation practice
- Strong experience working across a range of commercial litigation and/or construction matters
- Excellent technical and legal drafting skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Proven time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously
- Experience preparing matters for hearing, preferably including trial experience
- Strong client liaison skills
