About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, Legal & Governance this role is responsible for commercial and technology contracts, outsourcing, procurement contracts, provision of intellectual property and brand management advice across the AMP Group. It will also provide legal advice regarding data security and privacy.

It will also provide legal advice to the Alliances Group (TAG) who are central contract management team for all AMP’s key vendor relationships.

More specifically this includes commercial contracts; technology contracts; licensing; outsourcing arrangements, workspace (office fit out) and works contracts (minor and major construction agreements in relation to AMP Capital Shopping Centres)

 More specifically your main responsibilities will include:

  • Draft and negotiate a range of commercial, procurement and technology contracts, including IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing, software licensing, (including SaaS / cloud-based licensing) sponsorship, works (minor and major in relation to AMP Capital Shopping Centres).
  • Provide support and advice to the business in relation to the ongoing management of existing contractual relationships with external vendors and outsource providers.
  • Provide legal advice, education and support to the business on intellectual property, procurement, commercial contracting and outsourcing issues, including in relation to regulatory obligations, compliance and relevant regulatory changes.
  • Advise the business in relation to contractual disputes and strategies for resolution of disputes
  • Create and maintain AMP Group brand protection policies
  • Build strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate effectively in key business projects and identify and manage legal risks within these projects

 

What we look for in you:

  • Degree in law or other appropriate legal qualifications.
  • Must hold, or be eligible to hold, a relevant practising certificate in New South Wales.
  • Ideally at least 5 years proven and relevant post admission experience.
  • In depth knowledge of software, technology and outsourcing contractual arrangements, including offshoring and property related contracts, preferably with experience acting for APRA regulated entities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of brand protection and intellectual property law, including trade mark and copyright law.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of privacy laws.
  • Ability to prepare and negotiate a broad range of commercial and technology contracts and lead negotiations on a range of complex and high value outsourcing and procurement arrangements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications ability a well as contract drafting
  • Priority and time management skills
