We are currently on the hunt for a Probate Clerk/Junior Lawyer to join an innovative and highly creditable Law Firm located in the beautiful town of Echuca.

This role involves the practical aspects of estate administration and drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney.  It also provides support to senior lawyers who practice in estate litigation. 

The successful candidate will  have broad legal knowledge of the processes involved in administering deceased estates including a technical understanding of the law relating to Wills and Estates. The ability to maintain professionalism and sensitivity when dealing with clients is essential.

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administration of estates including attending on the executors to take instructions and providing advice, calling in of the assets including closing all accounts, payment of any debts, drafting distribution statements and liaising with the executors and beneficiaries as to any distribution of assets and/or land transfers.
  • Drafting and providing advice on probate applications and/or letters of administration and understanding the Court processes (in both Victoria and New South Wales).
  • Preparation and witnessing of Wills and Powers of Attorney.
  • Providing advice as to defective or incomplete Wills and preparing Deed of Family Arrangements.
  • General assistance to senior lawyers in estate litigation.

To be considered for this role you will have a proven work history in a Wills and Probate environment or have completed an appropriate Law degree.
