The Role
We are proud to have a motivated and expert team primarily assisting survivors of abuse. This dedicated team of Solicitors, Law Clerks, Paralegals and Admin Assistants work on numerous cases to make a real difference in the lives of their clients. With our focus of securing the very best resolutions for our deserving clients, a full-time Paralegal opportunity has arisen for an individual who strongly believes in handling our clients' claims with empathy and a willingness to think creatively.
We are seeking an energetic and driven individual with Paralegal experience to join our Abuse Law practice area, working from our Helensvale branch.
- Assist Solicitor with the day-to-day operations of files/client management
- Be the first point of contact for clients
- Prepare matters for conference and hearing including preparation of court documents, legal documents and general correspondence
- Prepare simple correspondence and documents as directed
- Drafting briefs, documents such as claim forms and schedule of damages and liaise with Counsel
- Correspond, brief and liaise with medical practitioners and other experts
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and external to the organisation
- Manage complex databases of information
- Devise systems to support information retention and accessibility
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Location - Helensvale
Required Skills
- Min 2-3 years Personal Injury experience in a Paralegal role would be ideal
- Experience in Abuse Law would be preferable, however, not essential
- Depth of experience in managing clients who have experienced trauma
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Clear sense of self direction and ability to prioritise tasks
- Experience with time recording and being WIP conscious
- Good understanding of Pre-court and Court processes
- Ability to work as part of a team and achieving targets
- Proactive, self starter and displays initiative
- Ability to show great attitude, commitment and see matters to conference collectively as a team
- Comfortable to work under pressure when needed
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience using Elite would be advantageous
