Your new company
This private business specialises in supplying construction materials and building supplies. Within this organisation there are three key branches and major projects which focus upon a specific geographical area. Located in inner city Melbourne, with easy access to this location, this business aims to optimise the flow of building materials to their key commercial and residential stakeholders. This particular role sits within the Project Team. Reports directly to the General Manager of Finance.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the General Manager - Finance, you’ll be responsible for drafting and reviewing, auditing and negotiating commercial contracts. Working within this role you will be required to work autonomously within a team of professionals who have varied backgrounds. The key stakeholders who are connected with this role include Regional Senior Management team, Major Projects Management Office, in-house Legal team, Project Managers and Sales Managers. Some of the core elements of this role are liaising with the key internal and external stakeholders, maintenance of the tender and contracting process, the establishment and maintenance of a centralised database for contracts and risk assessments, and being responsible for keeping up to date with Australian standards and legislation for contract law. Given the expansion of the company and growing complexity for their contractual arrangements, this role has been created to accommodate these changing needs of this national company.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience in a similar position, working within either a private business or government organisation, sound knowledge of various components of commercial contracts, experience working with a variety of stakeholders. Key skills which are required for this role include strong contract negotiation skills, advanced client relationship development skills, sound written and verbal communication and a solution focused approach for complex business and legal situations.
