The Grampians Health Justice Partnership is an innovative collaboration between Central Highlands Community Legal Centre and Grampians Community Health.
The HJP involves embedding a Lawyer and a Financial Counsellor within Grampians Community Health to provide legal and financial counselling services to target clients who may not have otherwise accessed these services.
This innovative model brings legal support within a health service, to ensure the most vulnerable people have access to legal help when they need it most and enables the respective professions to work together to improve the holistic health of clients.
Although employed by Central Highlands Community Legal Centre in Ballarat, this position will be based on site at Grampians Community Health, Stawell Campus, with the option for outreach to the Horsham Campus as well as attendance at Ararat, Stawell and Horsham Courts.
Skills and experience
In addition to possessing the qualifications necessary to practicing law in Victoria, applicants must have broad generalist experience in areas of family law, family violence and civil matters such as infringements, debt and consumer law.
Experience in Magistrates Court appearances is desirable particularly in family violence matters.
