About the role

As a newly created role within WorkCover Queensland, this position will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of the legal panel performance management and monitoring. This role will provide expert legal advice to internal stakeholders to minimise WorkCover’s legal risk and will support implementation of the legal risk framework and contributes to research, strategic projects and legal education with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

Admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, your 5+ years in a senior management role is evident in your practical problem solving and verbal, written and presentation skills including the ability to present recommendations clearly and effectively.

With a sound understanding of legal issues in relation to personal injuries law, litigation and accident insurance and how these impact individual claims and the scheme overall, you have a strong understanding of statutory and common law claims management functions as well as premium. Your strong financial management skills include the ability to monitor the financial impact of common law trends and interpret financial and statistical reports.

Comfortable managing complex and sensitive consultations, negotiations and partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders, your willingness to contribute to the team and to work effectively and cooperatively with stakeholders will assist you in achieving group and organisational goals.
