The Ideal Candidate

This is a newly created Associate-level position, and you will need a minimum of three years’ post-admission experience to apply.  You will ideally have practiced primarily in commercial litigation, with enough exposure to insolvency and restructuring work to know that this is the area in which you want to make your career.  It is not essential that you come from a large firm environment, but you should be able to show that you have worked on matters of significant size and quality.  Demonstrated enthusiasm for bankruptcy law is essential, and an interest in pursuing ARITA qualification will be very highly regarded. 
  
Culturally, you will need to take an approach to practice that sees you fight fiercely for your clients in correspondence, negotiations, mediation, and the courtroom while still being able to enjoy a laugh with colleagues in the office.  In short, you take your work seriously, but not yourself, and seek mentorship from senior practitioners who operate the same way.
  
This is an exceptionally rare opportunity for an enterprising junior solicitor to take on work of a serious calibre and develop their skill-set as an insolvency lawyer under some of Queensland’s foremost practitioners in that space.  Above all else, you must be ready for a challenge and looking to take a serious step forward in your career.
