About the Company

I am representing an International developer of utility scale solar farms who are entering a growth phase for their business in Australia. They have proven expertise worldwide and have a secured pipeline of projects for the Australian market. They are a small team of 10+ people and offer a supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role

My client is seeking a transactional attorney with experience from either a recognised law firm or an in house legal department. You will act as the sole legal representative for Australia and will be responsible for project and construction finance, government funding agreements, construction and commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property. Experience dealing with EPC and O&M contracts is highly regarded. 

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and draft distribution and supply agreements
  • Negotiate and draft development rights, EPC/O&M agreements and other ancillary agreements
  • Ensure regulatory reporting and compliance to local regulatory framework
  • Coordinate and supervise other external legal counsel(s)
  • Liaise closely with regulators, government, finance and industry stakeholders, customers, counterparties and other colleagues
Skills & Experience
  • Law degree essential
  • Licensed to practice law in Commonwealth Countries, preferably Australia
  • Proven experience as a transactional attorney from top law firm or in-house legal department
  • Experience from a power / infrastructure / construction background highly regarded
  • Strong transactional and commercial sales contracts experience
  • Good understanding of EPC / O&M contracts preferred
  • Proven experience in taking responsibility for contractual management and successful execution.
