About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join the insurance practice in our Brisbane office. In this role you will be engaged in broad range of matters including complex general insurance litigation on instructions from London Underwriters and a variety of Australian insurers. This includes entailing the defence of public liability and property damage claims, and professional indemnity matters (including defence of claims brought against healthcare and other professionals). In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist healthcare professionals to respond to complaints about them to statutory authorities and to work on complex subrogated recovery actions in respect of major losses.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
• At least 3-5 years post admission experience
• Prior insurance litigation experience
• Prior experience in health and disciplinary matters desirable
• Superior communications skills
• A sharp eye for details
• Be pro active and pre-emptive by nature and
• A demonstrated ability to prioritise within a high volume environment
