About the Role:
As an Associate Corporate Lawyer/Governance Advisor, you will assist in providing quality legal and administrative services to support the Company Secretary and facilitate compliance with Corporations Act and energy legislation, regulation, policies, procedures and rules. With supervision, this opportunity will give you exposure to a number of Regulation and Governance matters affecting our Legal, Regulatory and Risk, Audit and Compliance teams.
Key accountabilities:
- Responsible for ASIC Compliance & Lodgings;
- Supporting the Company Secretary in managing corporate governance issues;
- Reviewing a range of board and committee papers;
- Providing support to the Company Secretary in relation to a range of legal, finance, risk, and corporate governance responsibilities;
Required skills and experience:
- Up to 3 years legal or corporate governance or legal experience
- Company secretary or legal related qualifications with eligibility to hold a current practising certificate
- Excellent research, investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills to a range of stakeholders, including an ability to work positively with other professionals;
- Knowledge of Australian corporate governance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage multiple tasks that require strict attention to detail, sometimes with competing priorities to meet firm deadlines
