The Team
We are proud to have a strong national Disability and Superannuation Insurance team at Shine. Our Solicitors, Claims Managers, Paralegals, Client Interviewers and Investigations Officers work on a number of complex insurance claims and superannuation matters, guiding clients towards the best possible outcome under their insurance policy arrangements. We continually challenge the insurers 'head on' to ensure justice prevails.
Due to internal moves within the business, a rare opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our highly engaged Superannuation & Disability team has arisen.
The Role
- Assist Solicitors with the day-to-day management of our Superannuation & Disability files
- Draft legal documents
- Collate and draft documents and general correspondence
- Respond to clients' enquiriesPrepare briefs to Counsel
- Liaise with Counsel Defendant lawyers and insurers
- Assistance with preparation for trial
- Gather evidence and prepare detailed chronologies of evidence
- Liaising with insurers, medical clinics, barristers and defendant solicitors
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships
- Administrative tasks as required
- Full time Permanent - 38 hours/week
- Brisbane CBD based
Required Skills
- Experienced Paralegal in litigation
- Disability & Super Claims experience and exposure to litigation are both highly preferable
- Understanding of the court process and ability to draft basic court documents such as Affidavits, List of Documents, Subpoenas
- Demonstrated experience in court document preparation, letters of advice, instruction
- Strong organisational skills with an excellent attention to detail
- Clear sense of self direction and ability to prioritise tasks
- Work under pressure and is self-directed as needed
- Proven ability to work as part of a strong team
- Optimistic attitude and commitment
