This boutique agency is well-established in the Melbourne market, having been in operation for over twenty years. Due to recent business growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Underwriter with a strong background in Commercial Lines, including ISR, to join their team. Reporting directly to the Underwriting Manager, the successful will be responsible for the underwriting and management of an extensive client portfolio. In addition to this, responsibilities will include:

• Underwrite new business and review upcoming renewals & endorsements
• Coaching and mentoring of junior team members, helping the team with increasing profitability
• Liasion with brokers and clients, building and developing existing relationships
• New business development
• Credit control and premium collection

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• Strong experience underwriting Commercial Lines
• Recent ISR experience, preferrably within a brokerage or underwriting agency
• Tier 1 qualifications and relevant tertiary qualifications preferred
• Strong relationship building and communication skills
• Excellent business acumen
• Proactive, positive approach and the ability to work well under pressure
