We currently have a Claims Officer position available in our Professional Lines claims team based in Parramatta for on a permanent, full time basis.

The purpose of this role is to deliver the timely and effective management of Professional Lines insurance claims and for ensuring quality claims service to all stakeholders. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate input, processing, authorisation and payment of claims
  • Timely determination of professional lines claims in accordance with company policies, industry standards and applicable legislation
  • Proper documentation of claims processing and outcomes
  • Managing claims using the appropriate external and internal specialists to achieve effective and efficient settlement outcomes
  • Manage complaints as per guidelines
  • Negotiation of claims settlements
  • A continuing improvement focus attitude towards implementation of new work practices and procedures, initiating and facilitating change and innovations
  • Ability to enhance and develop your own technical expertise and participate in professional development and training
  • Ensuring the delivery of the highest quality customer service and developing strong working relationships with all customers and service providers
  • Reporting in accordance with relevant company service standards and manuals

 

What does success look like?

  • Minimum 1-2 Professional Lines claims experience within the industry, junior to mid level will be considered
  • Relevant legal qualifications and/or some exposure to PL claims
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and technical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Pro-active and energetic team player
  • Highest professional approach to all aspects of claims handling
