THE OPPORTUNITY

Building upon your proven worker’s compensation Case Management experience, this exciting opportunity will require you to pro-actively and effectively manage Work Injury Damages (WID) claims within the legislation. This includes active management of a reduced portfolio of WID claims including the injury management aspects of each allocated claim.

This position also involves working with the Team Leaders to manage WID claims within their portfolios including oversight of the day-to-day work activity and training and development of a team of Case Managers managing the WID claims.

This is a permanent role based in our Sydney CBD office.  

ABOUT YOU

• Manage a complex portfolio of Work Injury Damages claims
• Provide advice in relation to legislative requirements, provision of benefits, injury management and liaison with stakeholders
• Assess all aspects of liability, recovery and quantum pursuant to the relevant State legislation and guidelines
• Build relationships with key stakeholders, including injured workers, employer clients, medical and legal practitioners, allied health and rehabilitation professionals, etc
• Facilitate and foster positive business relationships and contact with your client, arrange and engage in regular claims reviews, injury management panels, etc
• Develop, issue, review and proactively manage Injury Management Plans at structured review points and in accordance with internal and compliance guidelines  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong customer service, communication, empathy, resilience, motivational, relationship building and interpersonal skills are essential
• Demonstrated previous experience as a worker’s compensation Case Manager role is essential
• Previous experience in the management of both front and tail-end and/or psychological claims will be advantageous
• Deep understanding of litigation in the worker’s compensation space is vital
• Effective time-management skills and proven ability to work to deadlines and compliance standards.
