THE ROLE

• This is a newly created role where you will have the opportunity to focus on and grow your technical skills as you assess and underwrite new business across a large commercial and residential strata portfolio – the client is happy to cross train you from commercial or other lines
• You will be responsible for  implementing new strategies to ensure profitable growth of your portfolio
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers through market facing, providing advice and pursuing  new business opportunities
• Be supported by a  team of junior underwriting staff who will process your renewals & endorsements and handle general administration and ad hoc tasks
• Fast track career progression into a leadership role on offer. You will have the opportunity to provide underwriting training and mentoring to junior staff

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience  underwriting in property, strata or commercial packages  or other commercial lines looking to expand their skills into strategy, portfolio management and/or leadership
• Self-driven with the ability to manage your workload to tight deadlines and meet KPI's
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholder across all levels of the business
• Outstanding attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
