About the business and the role
Little Swallow café is located in Kyneton 1 hour out of Melbourne. The café has an excellent reputation for quality food and exceptional service. Combine this with excellent coffee, locally produced wines and beers and an ambiance that makes the customer feel at home and we have a recipe for success. Little Swallow is looking for a Chef who will continue to take the café on its upward trend and who will pride themselves on their contribution to the next stage of growth.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Develop seasonal changes and specials to compliment the existing menu.
Checking food quality and ensuring preparation is undertaken in accordance with food safety plan and Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibility for management of kitchen operating cost control and budgeting.
Have knowledge of upcoming food trends.
Skills and experience
Must have demonstrable experience in menu design.
Must have delivered creative menus within budgeted guidelines.
Can communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
Knowledge of food handling safety guidelines and OH&S regulatory requirements.
Be able to develop a team and lead and inspire those to deliver on own standards.
Job candidates must have the permanent right to work in Australia.
