Job Summary

The Receiving/Stores Officer functions as the property's strategic support for the Purchasing Manager and the purchasing of supplies and products used at a hotel. Responsible for establishing and following procedures in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing items. This person must be a quick thinking, hard working, dedicated professional with a lust for life and passion for getting the job done.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures compliance with all brand established systems and procedures.
  • Conducts inventories and assists with month end reports required for accounting
  • Ensures accurate administration of all invoices and adheres to proper bookkeeping procedures
  • Key supporter of purchasing operations
  • Maintaining finance and accounting goals
  • Supporting property operations
  • Supporting safety standards and work procedures
  • HACCP / food safety experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a hotel purchasing department
  • Proficiency in Micros Simphony POS
  • Proficiency in Birchstreet purchasing system
  • Must be available from Tuesday to Saturday. Early morning starts.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25kg
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of experience across the field of Purchasing and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a high attention to detail.
