This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and energetic Cafe Head Chef to join the team at our busy cafe in Inner City Sydney. With a growing reputation and exciting plans for the near future we are looking for a hands-on Head Chef to jump on board asap

Serving all day breakfast and lunch the cafe is focused on customer service and highest quality food, creating the best customer experience possible

The Role (You will be)

Hands-on style of chef

Passionate about customer service and great food

Self-motivated and someone who can motivate others

Leadership in a positive manor

Have strong people management and communication skills

Experienced with high volume/running a fast-paced cafe kitchen

Organised and prioritise tasks and service

Able to work autonomously or within a team

Have an eye for the detail, creative and also able to follow recipes

Manage the day to day operations of a busy cafe kitchen

Able to work closely with Owner Manager

Knowledgeable about wholefoods and new food trends

Key Duties

Oversee all daily processes that are needed for a fully functioning busy cafe kitchen

Open and close of the cafe kitchen

Ensue all standards of stock management procedures are met

Ensure that checklists are being completed each shift

Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary

Maintain cleanliness of cafe kitchen on a daily basis

Maintain rapport with all teams

Training, motivating and educating team

Provide support and input to the Owner Manager in coordinating the daily operations and activities of the cafe kitchen

The Person (You will have)

Proven experience as cafe head chef/cafe chef

Hands-on managed a high performing cafe kitchen (not restaurant)

Prep and plating skills are essential

High level of attentive skills

Professional and mature approach

Motivated to deliver consistent high standards of food and service quality

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Trained and developed a great team

Experience in all elements of opening and closing a cafe kitchen

A genuine desire to learn and grow with us

Passion for fresh and delicious food

Available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
