We have an exciting opportunity for a driven Concierge to join our team. This position plays a critical role in delivering the exceptional and personalised service to all guests and visitors to the hotel.

To rock our Concierge role you'll need to apply both your experience within the hotel & hospitality industry and your local knowledge and contacts to maximise our guests experiences during their stay.  
 

Key Outcomes & Deliverables

This role is responsible for overseeing guest experience at The Old Clare Hotel. Specifically:

  • Ensuring that guests and visitors to the hotel receive an exceptional, authentic and personalised experience and service.
  • Enriching guest stays through recommending and then organising personalised event, dining or other kinds of experiences.
  • Owning all mail, porter and valet processes and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective functioning.
  • Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.  Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Front Office, Reservations, Accounts, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

 

Key Tasks

  • Providing personalised information to guests about local features such as shopping, dining, nightlife, recreational activities, destinations or anything else that will enrich their stay.
  • Recommending and then organising personalised shopping, dining, nightlife and recreational activities for guests.
  • Overseeing daily concierge operations including valet parking, porter services, luggage storage and retrieval, and post, ensuring these are managed effectively by the department.
  • Undertaking any ad hoc or unusual/special requests including sourcing hard-to-find items, assisting guests with courier and post requirements, finding lost items and so on.
  • Ensuring front office staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions effectively in the absence of concierge or guest services.
  • Undertaking supervisory or manager on duty role functions as and when required and overseeing effective operational functioning of the front office department.

You’ll probably be a bit of a networker by nature and will use your networks to secure amazing experiences (whether that be food, drink, recreational activities, trips, hard-to-find items… whatever!) for our guests. Importantly, you’ll love being responsible for enriching guest stays. You’ll also be organised and able to oversee our parking and luggage processes, and make sure any loose ends are tied up – for example, sleuthing out items that guests might have lost, locating or sending packages and couriers and so on and so forth.
