Based in Melbourne, Tommy Collins by Atlantic Group is an event specialist, catering for both private & corporate sectors. We offer a bespoke service for a variety of events such as; weddings, birthdays, sporting spectacles & intimate dinners. Utilising our many venue spaces, at Tommy Collins we meticulously cater for the complete package. Our experienced team are on hand to deliver a uniqueness to every event and always ensuring that each one is stamped with Mr. Collin's personal touch.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The team is now seeking a customer focused and commercially astute Account Manager to oversee end-to-end client management, develop long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients and drive event sales. You will work to satisfy client’s needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner and aspire to deliver a positive service experience ensuring events are delivered exceeding clients expectations. The ability to identify growth opportunities and develop long term sustainable relationships are key.

Reporting directly to the General Manager – Operations your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a liaison between the business and our clients, ensuring excellent customer service and client satisfaction that maximises the opportunity for repeat business;
  • Managing a 3-month (plus) sales pipeline;
  • Delivering proposals;
  • Communicating new contacts and marketing opportunities;
  • Identifying new potential clients;
  • Planning events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives;
  • Effectively building rapport with all clients and delivering the highest service standards at all times;
  • Working alongside Event Coordinators to handover operational requirements to the Operations team with a clear outline of how the event will be executed in the lead up to, on-the-day and post;
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with team members and organising vendors;
  • Creating sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events including possessing a strong knowledge of the business to further these sales opportunities.

THE EXPERTISE:

To be successful for the Account Manager position, you will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Sales or Account Manager role in the catering/event management industry;
  • A valid Responsible Serving of Alcohol Certificate;
  • Experience with planning multiple events;
  • Marketing background experience preferred;
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge with front of house / floor management experience;
  • Outstanding communication and networking skills;
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment; and
  • Superior client facing skills with the ability to build long-term relationships is integral to your success.
