Due to success of new business Cater Care are seeking experienced Chef Manager, Full Time Chef, Weekend Chefs and Cooks to prepare healthy nutritious meals at The Gold Coast Recreation Centre.

With a focus on healthy catering and working with the QLD Recreation Centres values of nutritious food for good health – you role is to ensure guests enjoy their meals with fresh seasonal ingredients, homemade and healthy options that exceed expectations.

The successful applicant will be fast and efficient at food preparation, have experience in bulk catering, setting up servery, platting up meals and various conferences & functions.

Catering at Queensland’s Premium Recreation Centre for School camps, Sporting groups/tournaments, families in school holidays and weekends and various conferences, functions and events

• Hands on bulk cooking for daily meals and various conferences and functions
  
• Menu Planning and diet requirements, allergies, intolerance, vegetarian, halal etc
  
• Working closely with client to facilitate conferences and functions
  
• Staff management: leading the team, delegating, rosters, staff replacements, training, mentoring and discipline
  
• Managing food and labour costs, ordering stock/stocktake, working within budgets
  
• All aspects of kitchen operations
  

Key Criteria:

• Trade Qualified Chef
  
• Previous management experience preferably within Education or Functions
  
• Previous experience in bulk cooking and high volume of function work and events
  
• Organisation skills and ability to organise a small team
  
• Strong understanding of Food Safety Practices and Health & Safety
  
• Blue Card -Working With Children’s Check before commencing
  

Full Time Chef - Monday to Friday

• Cooking a variety of healthy & nutritious fresh made breakfast, morning/afternoon tea, hot lunches, dinner and dessert
  
• Monitoring and promoting kitchen hygiene & food safety practices
  
• Cleaning of kitchen areas and dishwashing 
  
• Blue Card -Working With Children’s Check before commencing
  

Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar role working in food service, commercial kitchens or catering; be well presented and self-motivated with a strong focus on customer care.
