JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Executive position is responsible for handling incoming event sales enquiries for the hotel’s function rooms for small conferences, day meetings, social catering and weddings.  This includes qualifying enquiries, drawing up proposals, negotiating, contracting, communicating the requirements of the event and then following up to ensure deposits payments are processed.  The position serves as the customer’s point of contact before handover to the Events team. This reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2-years of related work experience

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Responds to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel.
  • Identifies and qualifies incoming catering leads to achieve personal KPIs and revenue goals.
  • Understands the overall market; competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
  • Quote, negotiate and contract a portfolio of catering events to ensure personal revenue targets for the year are achieved.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
  • Maximizes revenue by up-selling packages and creative food and beverage.
  • Ensure each of your events has accurate information entered into ISAC (catering sales system).
  • Interacts effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations and other hotel departments in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure account intelligence is shared between Sales and the Events team.
  • Executes and supports the company’s Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
  • Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the company.
  • Ensure credit and billing policies and procedures are adhered to in line with SOP manual
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Produce reports as required.
  • Attend the daily departmental briefing, weekly Event Order meeting, food and beverage meeting as required.
  • Meet and farewell all clients ensuring they have been handed over to the Operations team and are comfortable
  • Ensure compliance with the hotel’s grooming and uniform standards.
  • To work as and where directed by Management plus follow all reasonable requests
