We are looking for a leader with a passion for tourism and marketing to join our Arts & Events team to contribute to the continuing development of the tourism industry within Latrobe City.

The role is diverse and responsibilities range from marketing Latrobe City as a central point for tourism, assisting in the attraction and development of tourism, along with related business activity and infrastructure, to managing the operations of the Visitor Information Centre.

To be successful in this role, you will have a good mix of strategic and operational skills, with the ability to work with our internal departments and the community to actively promote Latrobe City as a regional tourism and hospitality hub, as well as providing effective leadership to our Tourism staff.

 In this role you will:

• Proactively oversee the activities and administration of the Latrobe Visitor Information Centre;
• Be responsible for the effective and efficient provision of tourism services to event organizers, local tourism operators and visitors;
• Identify new tourism-related opportunities, including promoting Latrobe City as an attractive destination/event/cultural/business tourism destination;
• Support and contribute to the finalization of the new Tourism and Events Strategy and Action Plan that is currently underway;
• Support and contribute to the Destination Management Plan currently being developed by Destination Gippsland;
• Ensure Council’s tourism information services are conducted safely and in accordance with best practice compliance; and
• Manage the accurate monitoring and control of the Tourism team’s budget allocations.
