About the Hotel
The Hotel Windsor is an iconic Australian hotel embodying the architecture and elegance of a European style 'Grand Hotel', situated on Spring Street and located at the 'Paris' end of Melbourne. Our beautiful hotel is looking for a Front Office Manager to join our team.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, this position is ideal for an experienced Front Office Manager with an exceptional understanding of customer service excellence and who is experienced enough to create standards, not simply follow them. Consideration may be given to an exceptional Assistant Front Office Manager ready to take a big step forward in their career
The Front Office Manager will be part of our Executive Team and will have an active role in supporting the Hotel’s culture and in the decision making process.
Duties
Responsibilities include:
- Direct the organisation of work within the department including assignments, time schedules and vacations to ensure optimum utilisation of resources;
- Constantly monitor key performance indicators for the department and take corrective action;
- Ensure adherence to company and hotel policies by all departmental employees;
- Ensure standards are created that give the hotel a strong competitive edge;
- Ensure safety and security of guests;
- Ensure that Assistant Managers are responsible for maintaining standards within Front Office;
- Leading and developing a team of circa 15 Front Office Team Members;
- Hands-on approach to leadership;
- Maintaining the highest standards of guest service, going above and beyond and ensuring guest service levels are consistent across the Front Office and Concierge Department;
- Promoting the business to achieve accommodation sales;
- Ensuring that reservations are managed appropriately when the reservations team is absent;
- Guest Service.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role in a 5 star hotel;
- Experience with staff supervision and management;
- Superior team building skills;
- A passion for outstanding customer service;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills;
- High standard of personal presentation;
- A good understanding of revenue management;
- Excellent departmental financial management skills.
