DESCRIPTION :

Located in Alexandria, This very well known Cafe is transforming into a French Bistro at night. Very popular weekend destination for friends and family and an emphasis on quality produces, the menu is seasonal and simple, showcasing the finest and freshest produce, with each dish allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves.

THE ROLE:

The role of the Junior Sous Chef will be supported by an experienced Executive Chef where you will provide creative input along with assisting menu development, team leadership and passion for excellence. This is an excellent prospect for any career minded chef as there is the possibility of both career advancement & skill development.

REQUIREMENTS:

The right candidate must have at least 2 years experience in a similar role.  We are looking for a self driven individual to lead our hard working team.  Must be motivated, dedicated, well groomed and with the right attitude

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Hold the relevant cookery qualifications
  • Understanding of produce, culinary techniques & kitchen equipment
  • Work and thrive under pressure
  • Work and communicate effectively in a team environment and under direction
  • Eye for detail and consistency
  • Previous experience working in a cafe, bistro or restaurant
  • Able to effectively manage your time
  • Previous experience with managing food costs
  • Genuine passion for service standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
