About the business and the role

​​​​​​Basilica Open Kitchen, Brookfield Place. 

  • Fast-paced table-service cafe & restaurant located in Brookfield Place precinct, Perth CBD looking for an experienced Sous-Chef to join our young, passionate team of hospitality professionals.
  • Standard working hours between 5.30am - 3.30pm, Monday - Friday.
  • Working with fresh, local produce the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated love for all things food. 
  • Along with the A La Carte breakfast & lunch service, the venue also supplies local businesses with catering delivered to offices as well as catering for corporate events & functions. 
  • Occasional weekend / evening work will be required & flexibility with regards working hours is a necessity. 
  • A sister venue close-by operates with a similar focus on corporate catering & events, and daily collaboration between both venues is crucial to ensure the successful growth of both businesses going forward. You must instantly come across as a sociable, hard-working team-player to be considered suitable for this role.

Job tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Breakfast prep & service
  • Lunch prep & service
  • Catering prep & service
  • Ordering & stock control / rotation
  • Preparation of cakes / slices / pastries / raw items
  • Working in conjunction with the Head-Chef & Venue Manager, our new team-member will be expected to be able to follow direction, as well as provide constructive creative input to menu design, service, supplier management and catering / events. 
  • Maintaining a clean & hygienic section

Skills and experience

  • Trade qualified
  • Minimum 3 years proven working experience
  • Experience running a busy breakfast / lunch service in a similar venue
  • Passion for keeping up to date with local, national & international food trends
  • Experience working with healthy / clean eating a bonus.
