About the business and the role
Circa 1876 is one of the Hunter Valleys most iconic and well known award winning restaurants.
Situated within the vineyards of the Hunter Valley is our award winning Restaurant Circa1876, Restaurant 88 and our award winning luxury boutique hotel The Convent. Circa1876 provides a modern Australian fine dining menu that is inspired by local an estate grown produce from our own onsite organic kitchen gardens to local farmers and producers within our community. The menu is ever changing and inspired by the seasons offerings.
As a team member you will work well within the group and autonomously, gaining exposure to different cooking techniques, ongoing creativity through our ever changing menu utilizing fresh produce from our on site kitchen garden along with our own bee hives, chickens and quails. Play a part in menu creations and work alongside a strong, happy and fun team of like minded professionals.
Job tasks and responsibilities
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Pastry Chef who has strong integrity, discipline, and time management skills.
To be successful for this role you will be an enthusiastic and passionate chef. Your responsibility will be for the delivery of exquisite desserts, breads and daily creations from pre desserts to amuse bouche and more.
This role is highly autonomous with great freedom for creativity for the right candidate.

- Demonstrated experience in fine dining al a carte and function work preferred
- Passion driven for delivering outstanding high quality food
- Proven ability in developing within a small team of chefs
- Dedicated & creative team player
- Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene and strict OHS standards
- Provide assistance with kitchen operations
- Preparation and delivery of desserts & breads
