About the Job

You will join our successful and passionate Aurrum 'family', dedicated to delivering exceptional care to residents living at the Terrigal Drive facility. Terrigal Drive is Aurrum's newest aged care home, a luxury purpose-built residence boasting exceptional standards of care and food, lifestyle and wellness services.

You will join a dynamic catering department that is instrumental to Aurrum's food focused culture. Aurrum offers gourmet a la carte seasonal menus which are prepared in consultation with a Head Dietician for nutritional quality and can be tailored to meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Aurrum's menus include meals specially designed and selected by celebrity chef and Aurrum Food Ambassador, Karen Martini.

You will be responsible for creating nutritious and high quality cooked meals that provide a comforting and enjoyable experience for our residents.

Daily tasks will include:

• Food preparation tasks for breakfast, lunch and dinner service
• Cooking and presenting meals as per the Aurrum menu and presentation standards
• Ensuing safe and hygienic working practices
• Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen

Part time permanents positions are available covering morning, afternoon and evening shifts.
 
About You

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

• Food Safety / Food Handler certification
• Certificate II in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) will be highly regarded 
• Experience in catering in Hotels or Aged Care; and demonstrated knowledge of kitchen operations
• Ability to manage own time and competing priorities in a fast paced and dynamic catering environment
• High level written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of work health and safety standards in New South Wales
• Current and valid Police Check
• An appreciation and respect for working with the elderly and people from diverse backgrounds
