Rydges Hotel North Sydney is a 167 room 4 star hotel located in the center of North Sydney. The Kitchen team is seeking its next highly motivated & passionate casual Cooks and Stewards

You'll impact our guests' stay by delivering a consistent quality product across all our food & beverage department, ensuring a high level of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, maintaining our brand standards and exceeding our guests' expectations. Working closely with the Senior Management and Service Staff to ensure successful delivery of catering for breakfast, A la Carte Restaurant and Functions. 

The applicants need to be team focused playing a hands-on role with all food preparation and execution of food service. Key accountabilities include:  

- Perform day to day operations of kitchen ,corporate events and conferences;
- Responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals;
- Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in all food storage and preparation areas;     
- Coordinate and delegate duties to staff within designated section;        
- Monitor to ensure food quality, presentation and safety standards are adhered to;        
- Ability to work in a team and supervise your own section;
- Ensure that all food preparation tasks assigned are carried out in a timely fashion;
- Ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise within the designated section;       
- Display excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure;     
- Have a flexible approach to adapting to guest requests;      
- Display a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on consistency and presentation; 
- Have a comprehensive understanding of kitchen metrics such as food cost control;
- Train and develop apprentices in hands on skills, work plans and the HACCP/food safety plan.

The successful applicants must hold trade qualifications and a comprehensive knowledge of the Kitchen operation previously gained in a similar position in a 4 star property or a well respected establishment.

Hospitality Students currently studying and have True passion for the Industry are encouraged to apply

Banqueting experience preferred but not essential.
