We are on the look-out for a talented Sous Chef to join our Team. We are offering an amazing opportunity within a global brand with fast career progression prospects.

Opening in September and located in the heart of Sydney. The legendary Employees Only, located in West Village Manhattan NY, set the bar for high craft cocktails since its inception in 2004. After much success being Awarded “Best American Bar Team,” “World’s Best Cocktail Bar” and “World’s Best Drinks Selection”, EO has expanded to other global hospitality hubs around the world (LA/Singapore/Hong-Kong/Miami). EO is driven by an innate inclination for hospitality and a core belief that one can enjoy flawlessly executed cocktails and elevated food, served in a beautiful space without pretense.

About you: 

Duties and responsibilities 

You will be responsible for all kitchen operations. Including but not limited to: 

  • Be creative and passionate in the design and implementation of ongoing food concepts, knowledges in French cuisine will be advantage.
  • Responsible for the hygienic and safe preparation of food within all kitchen operations
  • Delegate duties as required to ensure the efficiency of the department and maintain effective follow up on those duties
  • Maintain stock control and ensure ordering of all products is completed, 
  • Training of new employees and re-training of existing employees in cooking procedures 

Skills and experience 

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of menu planning, food costing and modern French/Australian cuisine 
  • Have a strong understanding of rostering and managing wage costs in the kitchen.
  • Be passionate about cooking with fresh produce
  • The ability to take control of the kitchen and lead from the front
  • We are seeking an individual who has a passion for producing excellent quality food and who will be able to provide exceptional guest experiences by ensuring solid kitchen operations.
  • Train, lead and inspire your team to ensure a highly skilled, well organized and motivated team
  • Be energetic and enjoy fast paced environments
  • Have a desire to advance your career
  • Be reliable, punctual, multi-tasking ability 
  • Knowledges about Cooking the book and Deputy software or another systems will be appreciated
  • A graduate in Food Safety or possibility to be trained
