Melbourne & Olympic Parks is home to a large and diverse variety of events and functions, from conferences to sporting events, and our premier annual event, the Australian Open. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events Coordinator to join our very busy corporate hospitality team.

This role will provide administration and operational support to both corporate, sales and events teams, while developing strong relationships with internal and external clientele.

As the Event Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
• Liaising with superbox clients to confirm orders and manage food and beverage enquiries
• Utilise sales techniques up-selling where opportunities exist
• Prepare and collate all paperwork for successful event operational delivery, including the submission of charges post event and financial reconciliation
• Prepare event orders as required to meet daily business needs
• Build and maintain strong and productive relationships with casual team members, management, internal partners and key clients
• Ensure that all planning and preparation is completed with consultation with culinary to ensure a smooth service period and event delivery
• Ensuring all areas of event operations and administration are delivered above expected standards

Ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience in event catering operations
• A basic understanding of event sales
• Strong and proven administration background
• EBMS Software experience and advanced level competency with Excel
• Experience in and a passion for training
• Astute attention to detail in all areas of their work
• Exceptionally high standards and a strong work ethic with a passion for continuous improvement
• A personality that is professional, fun, outgoing, committed and passionate with the realistic view that versatility and flexibility is always needed within hospitality as is a common sense approach.
