The Walshe Group is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Sales Coordinator with previous travel experience for our Delta Air Lines' team.  The role is ideally suited to someone with 2-4 years experience in the travel industry and looking to take the next step in their career path.

The role of Sales Coordinator is responsible for various administrative and inside sales actions working closely to support the sales team.

Additionally the role is required to work in close cooperation with counterparts at Virgin Australia as part of Delta Air Lines and Virgin Australia's Joint Venture partnership.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Collate data reports and information for the sales team
  • Be the key liaison point between various departments and throughout the airline network
  • Develop a calendar of action items and projects
  • Coordinate and design point of sale material, presentations and collateral
  • Maintain and update databases
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and email enquiries
  • Assist with the coordination of famils
  • Assist with the coordination and attend events, expos and after hours functions
  • General administrative tasks

Skills and experience

Applicants must possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a sales support or administrative role in the aviation sector or travel industry
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A sound working knowledge of MS Office software including PowerPoint & Excel
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or similar design software a definite advantage
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to problem solve and achieve win-win outcomes
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task 
  • Flexibility to meet the varying demands of the role and after hours requirements
  • Be enthusiastic with a genuine desire to make a key contribution to a busy and professional team
  • A formal qualification in marketing, tourism or communications will be well regarded
