Are you looking to lead a team in an exciting, fast paced environment? Are you a charismatic individual with a CAN DO attitude? If so, we are looking for someone just like you. The iconic Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges is currently seeking a Reservations Manager to join their team!
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, your role will be to coordinate the management of all reservations and to maximise yield management.
Job Function
- To maximise efficiency of reservations staff and to co-ordinate the management of all reservations, thereby maximising yield management.
- To represent the department at appropriate meetings, attend guest functions and to represent the hotel when necessary at hotel functions and familiarisations.
- To ensure efficient and effective inter-department interaction within the hotel at all levels.
Financial
- Ensure in conjunction with front office and accounts the AR setup and charge back authorities follow hotel credit procedures.
- To ensure that average rate and occupancy is maximised.
- To ensure that commissions are appropriate correctly.
- To ensure that department expenditure is controlled within set targets.
- To ensure guaranteed bookings and cancellation fees are charged where appropriate.
- To liaise closely with FOM to ensure budgeted market mix is achieved to maximise yield.
- To consistently deliver products and services that meet the quality standards and expectations of guests.
- To achieve a reputation as the market leader in accommodation, product and service.
Customers
- To achieve a level of service quality that consistently meets and exceeds the expectations of guests and staff.
- To maintain and develop a guest recognition and VIP program.
Personnel & Training Management
- To enthusiastically motivate the reservations department to contribute to the hotel profitability through upselling and utilisation of the workings of yield manager.
- To ensure that strategies and practices are in place to facilitate the efficient and effective staffing of reservations such that financial and service quality targets are achieved.
- To establish and implement training modules with emphasis on structured on-job training.
- To develop and implement strategies to reduce staff turnover.
- To assist Front Office Manager in the selection and recruitment of reservations staff and also with regular staff appraisals.
- Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Standards of personal appearance hygiene, uniform and name tags as outlined in the staff handbook.
