This is a fantastic, unique opportunity to play a key role and be part of an exciting new Destinational Venture ( Dreamcity, Australia's first ever Edutainment/ Educational Themepark) in Melbourne with plans for major expansion and growth across Australia. In a nutshell, Dreamcity is a mini-scale city, run by children (4-16) under adult supervision, where children get to learn and play 80+ careers under the same roof in an Educational and Fun way, with "Practise by Doing" concept. Accountable for development and implementation of the administrative, financial, and risk management systems of the company, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the implementation and management of internal controls designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Key Responsibilities

Financial

  • Develop financial reporting systems
  • Timely reporting of financial results to CEO, management team and Board
  • Compliance with statutory and taxation authorities and reporting within timelines
  • Responsibility for implementation and management of new IT Platform
  • Responsibility for implementation of new payroll system and reporting thereon
  • Implementation of appropriate internal controls and management
  • Management of staff and implementation of their KPIs and performance reviews
  • Liaison with company’s internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accurate reporting of financials and compliance with accounting standards
  • Manage the shareholder register and maintain statutory compliance
  • Development and maintenance of Risk Management systems (see below)
  • Manage all company financing obligations
  • Play a key role in development of all company policies including staff, financial, HR,

Planning

  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts on a timely basis
  • Assist in formulating the company's strategic and business plans
  • Develop corporate and department performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team.
  • Maintain good working relationship with Board, shareholders and management team.
  • Manage the accounting IT and finance functions, investor relations, legal, tax, , reporting and banking functions.
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting. finance and IT functions have been outsourced.
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and implement operational best practices.
  • Oversee employee benefit plans
  • Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions where appropriate.

Risk Management

  • Development and maintenance of risk management systems
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Report to Board on a timely basis and major potential legal issues and monitor
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage including public liability, assets, workers compensation, and D&O Policies
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

Communications

  • Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders, including Board, shareholders, management and staff, patrons, banking, suppliers and providers of services
  • Working with other internal management teams to provide value e.g. development of sponsorship packages
  • Provide assistance with writing, assembling, and submitting corporate funding requests, including letters of intent, solicitation letters, proposals, budgets, acknowledgements, and presentations
  • Development and implementation of appropriate new supplier agreements which are cost effective and relevant to operations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients and exhibitors throughout various developmental activities,
