One of the Hunter Valley Wine Country's leading Food and Beverage operations; we are seeking highly skilled wait staff professionals for both full time and casual positions. These positions would suit applicants who live locally such as the following areas or surrounds of Pokolbin, Singleton, Cessnock or Maitland.

The Mill Restaurant has been awarded Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2016 & 2017, Readers Choice Award for the Australian Good Food Guide 2017, Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Award Wedding Cater of the Year and Cater of the Year 2016.

The successful applicants will have the following personal attributes:

Trainee/Supervisor

We are seeking a Professional Supervisor who is able to take control and manage staff, you will have sound food and beverage knowledge, experience is essential, capable of handling difficult situations, doing paperwork, understanding and leading by example, possess integrity, set standards in service within the operation and support the Food and Beverage Manager.

In summary this position is a key position to support the Restaurant Manager:

  • Full time;
  • 5 days a week;
  • Saturday and Sunday;
  • Evening shifts required for the Day/Night Supervisor;
  • Will undertake a certificate on the job, if eligible;
  • Register use; &
  • Computer skills are an advantage but not essential.

To be considered for this role you must be able to:

  • Carry 3 plates;
  • Carry a tray of champagne flutes;
  • Have previous a la carte experience;
  • Well presented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail, flexible and reliable;
  • Ability to multi task;
  • A passion for the industry;
  • Have at a sound wine knowledge and possess an interest in wine;
  • Hold a current RSA;
  • Be a team player and leader;
  • Able to handle customer issues professionally;
  • Not be a sickly individual; &
  • Understand order of service.

Advantage would be having excellent bar tending skills and working in a hotel chain, but not a necessity.

Casual Wait Staff

The times and hours will vary depending on the business needs. Currently requiring well skilled people who are able to work of an evening and on weekends. We are a busy food and beverage operation who needs reliable and well skilled individuals who are well versed in food and beverage knowledge. Essential is being available on weekends.

It is essential you are well spoken, presented, possess a sense of urgency and understand guest service.
