We are an iconic Australian steakhouse with restaurants in numerous locations across Queensland and New South Wales. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to join our North Ryde store to assist with our brands continued growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), you will manage all kitchen operations and lead the back of house team. Your key tasks in this role are outlined below:

  • Leading and motivating a diverse back of house (BOH) team
  • Supervising the BOH staff to ensure superior product standards
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels
  • Effecting shift planning and management in line with forecast sales & budget
  • Managing daily kitchen operations and preparation
  • Recruiting, inducting and training BOH team members
  • Enforcing daily and weekly systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service, product quality and security;
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen is aligned with Food Safety requirements and general hygiene practices;
  • Effectively managing the cost of goods and food wastage
  • Management and maintenance of all OHS requirements

About You

You have strong management skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong background in high volume kitchens and a desire to provide an outstanding quality of food every time. Further, you can demonstrate:

  • 2-3 years' experience in similar leadership role
  • Ability to meet and work towards both your own, the venue and company's goals and deadlines;
  • High level interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication
  • Certificate III – Commercial Cookery (desired);
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred);
