The 244-bed Melbourne Central YHA offers premium budget accommodation with an emphasis on providing guests a unique Melbourne experience. We're looking for someone that's passionate about traveling, has a glass half full attitude, is a master of raving fans customer service culture and plays well with others.
The role is a Part Time Receptionist that will assist in the day-to-day operations of this busy backpacker hostel. Duties include guest check-in and check-out, travel and tour sales, providing guests with local information, and upholding YHA standards and values.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Talking to everyone that you come into contact with and making them feel welcome
Checking in and checking out guests with a friendly smile, as well as informing them about what's on in the hostel during their stay.
Play an active role in the daily activities.
Ensure all guests receive impeccable customer service
Ensure that the hostel's atmosphere is pumping during peak times.
Take pride in the appearance of all areas within the hostel.
Efficient and accurate banking, reporting and auditing.
Logging, reporting & attending to maintenance issues.
You will also ensure our guests have a fantastic experience at the hostel by:
Being a walking-talking-Australia-guide-book, as well as offering guests a range of unique local tips.
Helping guests plan their Australian trip of a lifetime by recommending and selling unique and exciting experiences.
To be successful you must:
Have an outgoing personality with a unique and charismatic style of customer service
Bring energy into the team.
Think on your feet, and confidently problem solve
Be able to sell experiences and dreams
Be prepared to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings and public holidays
Have a thirst for travel!
